The new technology now allows musicians and artists to go back to the master tapes of their material and clean up and polish their sound. They have done it numerous times with The Beatles albums the latest release of the albums sound amazing. Two artists, I have mentioned before Paul McCartney and Phil Collins have done such where they have gone back music released decades ago. Both albums I received today can be purchased on vinyl. I would love to go back and listen to some of those albums in that format.
I still believe that in the future people will be buying physical albums as we have seen with the vinyl market. I cannot believe that we could go so cold to only having our music purchased as a stream, not something physically we can look at. Television programme have an will become streamed but I think the event of an album release there will still be physical formats to buy.
Anyway, I am off to listen to more songs.
I was trying to reflect on the past few months. Trying to think what it will be like in 6 months time. I have a 5 year plan and maybe a 10 year one. Then my life and my brain kept thinking about the news and the appalling dreadful toss pot Donald Trump. I know that we have a few in our political sphere in the UK. I have been blocked by a certain George Galloway on Twitter. I cannot remember trolling him or telling him directly how much I hated him and his politics but he must have got wind of it and decided that he was going to blot out the comments.
That brings me quite horribly back to Trump. His very name is a euphemism for a fart. I hate the idea that he like others is pandering to the lower common denominator and leeching off the fears of Americans who are concerned about their country. Using the old chestnut of saying that foreigners and migrants are to blame for the country’s ills rather than looking to prominent features of economic downturns that have happened globally.
Various far right groups in this country use their racist and misguided beliefs to blame generations of people who have established themselves in this country for the economic disasters of the banking industry which allowed greed and corporate finances to spiral out of control. It’s easier to pick on the weaker people in society and blame them where the actual blame is centred on those who have allowed greed to flourish for years.
I am certainly not a person who advocates that we march against capitalist agenda. Communism and getting rid of the free market does not work. We have seen regimes time and time again turn into dictatorial disasters. The rule of one man over one country might seem in itself to others to provide stability and moral cohesion but they always come undone by corruption and self-preservation.
My thoughts are with those who are the outcasts in society. The ones that are living on the edge where they don’t know if they are able to feed their children let alone themselves. The poor, the homeless and those who have been marginalised and used as a scape goat by the greed of politicians. A government should be allowed to rule as we voted for those in power in a democracy; we voted for those people to take control of the nation’s finances. Individually they like us should be made accountable to those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
So every time I see Trump on the stage promising to get the Mexican’s to build their own wall I am reminded of those who were made to dig their own graves in concentration camps throughout the Second World War. He is no use to America and the rest of the world. We need a stable world to build assurances and growth so all of us can live safely without fear.
Everyone has considered once in their life time what they would do if they were to win the lottery. I have heard of lots of plans and ideas. Lots of people wanting to invest or drive off into the sunset.
I have always wanted to buy an old vicarage in Northumberland and have a flat in London. I think that would be the first two things I would want to buy. I certainly wouldn’t be buying expensive cars. They are distasteful and vulgar. I know of a certain ex-friend who would drive around London every now and again in a very expensive hired car for the day just to show off to people. If this isn’t a sign someone is a nobhead I don’t know what is.
I have read that most people say that winning a large amount of money hasn’t brought them happiness or it has been a burden to them as they get so many begging letters. I could only tell a select few an then remain anonymous. The vultures would be circling overhead waiting for the perfect moment to strike claiming to be your best friend.
If you weren’t happy for various reasons in the first place then winning a lot of money might not heal or provide some sort of comfort for the things we are dealing with in life. It might buy you the best therapist or allow you to have plastic surgery to change your appearance.
We all now and again need to look deeper into ourselves to what is making us unhappy and deal with it. I had to have three months of therapy in 2012 and it identified the source of my depression. Something I had had been looking for for years.
Throwing the priceless diamond back was the best thing she ever did in Titanic. That was the part of her life she knew was over and she had closure. That’s what I am looking for now. Something that will say right. Lets do this get to the next bit and move on.
The gift of love, life, true friends and acceptance is a priceless thing. It’s only when we discover these and know that they are more important than millions will we ever be a good person and truly happy.
Cyber Monday, Black Friday, Pink Wednesday and Green Sunday. What is going on in the world? Companies desperate to get us to part with our money or credit even in the run up to the biggest shopping time of the year Christmas.
My good friend Gregory and I only ever once stood in a queue in the cold to buy the new iPhone 4s. Now things have changed you can have then delivered to the comfort of your own home and not have to wait in long cold queues.
I sat at 11pm last night and did some Christmas shopping in the comfort of my living room. But has the time for going out to the shops in decline? I would always thought as much when online shopping really kicked off. I thought there would be less people on the streets things would be lovely quiet but how wrong I was on Saturday afternoon at a local out of town retail park. I even waited until 4pm thinking it would be really quiet. Not at all. Still obnoxious people and screaming children.
We are encouraged each year to spend and people do go out just for the sake of saying that they did buy something. Regardless if they actually really wanted a certain item in the first place.
Some people need to take a serious look at their lives. Finding the the difference between our wants and needs has been blurred for decades.
